Hillary Clinton"s other daughter

Hillary Clinton’s Other Daughter

Few years back at the wedding reception of one of her intern and close confidant Hillary Clinton said in a speech, "I only have one daughter. But if I had a second daughter, it would be Huma." The young lady she was referring to Huma Abedin, a well educated, hard working Muslim lady who serves as vice chairwoman for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign for president. Ms Abedin started working for the First Lady as an intern during the Clinton administration and still to this day continues in her role as personal assistant to Mrs Clinton.

Huma Abedin was born in Michigan, USA. The daughter of an Indian-Muslim father and Pakistani-Muslim mother. She spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia where her parents were teachers. It was during her education at  George Washington University, Washington DC, Abedin began working as an intern in the White House in 1996, assigned to then-First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. In 1998, she became assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. She served as the back-up to Clinton’s personal aide, and officially took over as Clinton’s personal advisor during the 2000 New York Senate campaign. She later worked as traveling chief of staff and "body woman" during Clinton's 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination campaign.

In 2009, Abedin was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton in the State Department, she was given the title of "special government employee" arrangement created by the department which allowed her to work for private clients as a consultant while also serving as an adviser to the Secretary of State. The New York Times reported that an associate of Abedin’s said that the arrangement allowed her to work from her home in New York City, rather than at the State Department’s headquarters in Washington, to be able to spend more time with her child and husband.

In 2010, Abedin was included in Time’s, "40 under 40",a list of a "new generation of civic leaders" and "rising stars of American politics".Abedin  serves as vice chairwoman for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign for president, and continues in her role as personal assistant to Clinton.

She is a Muslim , is fluent in Urdu and is believed to enjoy cooking Pakistani cuisine.

“I’m not sure Hillary could walk out the door without Huma,” Clinton adviser Mandy Grunwald said back during the days of Hillary’s first run for the presidency. Huma and Hillary are inseparable, including having being linked together on a private e-mail network while Ms. Clinton was Secretary of State and Ms. Abedin was her deputy chief of staff. She trusts Mrs Abedin a lot and if Hillary Clinton is elected president, Ms. Abedin will most likely be given a top-level job in the White House.

"Both Hillary and Huma are extraordinary people who are also workaholics,” said designer Oscar de la Renta. Clinton herself praised her by saying“Huma Abedin has the energy of a woman in her 20s, the confidence of a woman in her 30s, the experience of a woman in her 40s, and the grace of a woman in her 50s. She is timeless, her combination of poise, kindness, and intelligence are matchless, and I am lucky to have had her on my team for a decade now.”

"One could say they are like mother and daughter. It’s more like an older sister–younger sister relationship, but it’s definitely familial,” according to a longtime Hillary friend, actress Mary Steenburgen.

"Hillary is psychologically dependent on having access to Huma 24 hours a day.  When they are apart, she calls her constantly. That’s why it would be essential for Clinton, if she becomes president, to have Huma her own bedroom upstairs in the White House" said a former associate.

Politics is ruthless it make people rude and remorse but Huma Abedin has not lost her poise and compassion. She is detail oriented and very loyal. She takes care of the entire show from organizing the press conferences to arranging fund raisers to also select Mrs Clinton’s outfits.

When Republican Donald Trump criticized Huma Abedin, Mrs Clinton openly defended her and labelled Trump "innuendo, conspiracy theories and defaming people". The bond of politics is quite strong and who knows maybe if Mrs Clinton is ever elected President United States Of America may have a first Muslim "chief of staff!”
